Just 8 miles away, west of Shrewsbury – the county town of Shropshire, which was established by Saxons and later developed by the Tudors – lies the village near the England-Wales border. The town is renowned for its castle, spires, abbey, parks and medieval houses with half-timbered structures. Close by can be found Attingham Park and the ruins of Wroxeter Roman City, which at one time was the fourth largest city in Roman Britain.
Known for its cobbled alleys and half-timbered buildings, is a charming heritage town with numerous exciting events and festivals that cater to all ages and interests. Visitors can explore the town’s shops, restaurants, and bars, and visit historic sites such as Shrewsbury Abbey and Shrewsbury Castle, which is home to the Shropshire Regimental Museum.
